Congratulations! If you’re here, that probably means you are about to get a new plant and we’re very excited for you. Sourcing your plants can get a little complicated sometimes, though, so here are a few things to keep in mind and a few of our favorite spots.
- Avoid buying from nurseries that use Neonicotinoids as they are harmful for both humans and pollinators.
- Know your invasive species: both plants and insects are of concern for home gardeners. Remember that when you add something to your garden you are fundamentally impacting that ecosystem: be thoughtful in your selections and consider long-term impacts.
Support the club
Each spring the garden club hosts our annual plant sale. We will also often make native plants, seeds or bulbs available to our members a handful of times throughout the year (keep an eye on the event calendar). Buying through the club is a great way to support our activities, to run into other local planters, and to access a curated list of exciting new options for your garden.
A Few Favorite Nurseries
We are not affiliated with any of these stores, but these are the places our club members frequent.
